Swimming Pool Program

The goal of the Swimming Pool Program is to minimize illnesses and injuries associated with contaminated or hazardous conditions in or around swimming pools that are permitted for operation in the State of Georgia. The EH Section permits facilities and conducts Swimming Pool inspections at a minimum of twice per year. The EH Section also provides education, investigates complaints, and assists the Epidemiology Section with Water-borne Illness Investigations. The regulatory framework for this program is found in the Department of Human Resources Rules for Swimming Pools, Spas, and Recreational Water Parks, Chapter 290-5-57.
