Houston County Health Department to Expand Travel Clinic
The Houston County Health Department is proud to announce that the travel clinic has expanded to provide better service! The clinic is now housed in its own location within the Health Department and has a nurse dedicated to meeting your pre-travel needs and minimize your wait time.
The travel clinic offers immunizations that are recommended before traveling to certain overseas countries. Clients will also receive medical guidance and information about the country to which they will be traveling.
Worldwide air travel and international commerce have increased the risk of infection with diseases not currently circulating in the U.S. Proper vaccination can decrease the spread of infectious diseases such as yellow fever, typhoid fever, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, hepatitis, and cholera.
Traveling can be exciting and amazing. Be sure to get immunized before you go; that way the only things you will bring back are memories!
Let the Houston County Travel Clinic be your first step on your travel adventures! The travel clinic is scheduled by appointment only and fees vary based on the services requested. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (478) 218-2000. Please inquire about our special accommodations for groups of travelers.
